Salah’s fight is far from over; we’re urging you to be a part of it

Today, an immigration court ruled that the Trump Administration can deport Salah Sarsour, a beloved community leader and longtime advocate for Palestinian rights. After already enduring 80 days in ICE detention under cruel and unjust conditions, Salah and his family are once again being forced to live with the fear that he could be torn away from the home he has known for over 30 years, his community, and the people he loves.

To be clear, this decision is NOT a removal order and does not mean that Salah can be re-detained. Salah and his attorneys will appeal this unjust decision, and we will continue fighting alongside them every step of the way. This fight is far from over, and we’re asking you to be part of it.

Take Action: Call on your Members of Congress/Senators to Support the Land of the Free Act!

Despite four hearings where firsthand witnesses and experts laid out evidence that dismantled the government's baseless claims, the immigration judge ignored the evidence and deferred instead to Israeli sources.

The Trump Administration has been weaponizing the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) against Salah Sarsour, Mahmoud Khalil, Leqaa Kordia, and others who have advocated for Palestinian rights. Section 237(a)(4)(C) gives the Secretary of State broad authority to pursue deportation based on claims of “adverse foreign policy consequences,” allowing this Administration to target people over political speech and advocacy.

The Land of the Free Act would address this abuse by repealing Section 237(a)(4)(C) and removing the authority the Administration has invoked against activists under vague “foreign policy” justifications. Representatives Deborah Ross (D-NC) and Becca Balint (D-VT) lead H.R. 4959. Senators Peter Welch (D-VT) and Alex Padilla (D-CA) lead S. 4800.

Salah’s case sets a dangerous precedent for anyone who dares to speak out against the Trump Administration’s agenda. His case cannot become a blueprint for using immigration law to punish political speech and silence dissent.

Stand with Salah and help defend our First Amendment rights from this Administration’s crackdown on speech it opposes. If Salah’s deportation is meant to send a warning to the rest of us, our response must clearly be that we will not be intimidated into silence. We will speak louder. Call and email your members of Congress/Senators, amplify Salah’s story and spread the word.

The BDS movement is hosting a landmark event and you’re invited. The next chapter starts now, help us write it.

In 2005, the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS)  became the backbone of the global movement for Palestinian liberation.

This November, the BDS@20 Europe Regional Conference will be held in Barcelona, and it’s shaping up to be a pivotal moment to define the movement’s next chapter.

With leadership from the BDS National Committee — the largest coalition in Palestinian society — they’ll chart concrete pathways to dismantle Israeli apartheid. The BDS@20 Europe conference lineup features some of the most influential figures advocating across Europe and beyond in the struggle for Palestinian liberation today, including:

British-Palestinian surgeon and scholar Ghassan Abu Sitta; Noura Erakat, leading scholar on international law and Israeli impunity; Omar Barghouti, co-founder of the Palestinian-led BDS movement; UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese; Robert Del Naja, Vocalist and Producer, Massive Attack; Activist and former member of the House of Representatives of Malaysia, Nurul Izzah Anwar, and actress and advocate of Palestinian rights, Hiba Abouk.

Join us for the Opening Session taking place on Wednesday, 18 November, featuring keynote addresses from headline speakers, followed by a live Q&A and networking reception.

  • Attend In Person: Secure a ticket for the Opening Session. Proceeds go directly toward funding the conference and sustaining the movement.
  • Join us from anywhere: Register to attend virtually.
  • Can’t attend but want to support the movement? Donate now, your support is important.

Click below to spread the word on social media.

Barcelona, a city whose history is deeply rooted in solidarity, provides an unmistakable backdrop for this gathering. Hosting the conference here sends a clear message: Europe must end its complicity with Israel’s genocidal apartheid regime.

Courts Dismiss Litigation Against AMP After Virginia Attorney General Agrees to Vacatur

We are pleased to share that, after years of unjustified scrutiny initiated by the former Virginia Attorney General, all related litigation and investigative demands against American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) have now been formally dismissed. This marks the end of a prolonged legal ordeal in which AMP steadfastly defended its constitutional rights, freedom of speech, freedom of association, and the privacy of its volunteers and donors.

AMP expresses its full appreciation and gratitude for the exceptional work of lead counsel Christina Jump of Jump Start Legal Justice Center and the Muslim Legal Fund of America (MLFA).

Since 2023, AMP faced baseless allegations that resulted in a Civil Investigative Demand issued without prior notice. Although AMP complied with all other Virginia registration requirements, we had not filed a single procedural form. Rather than notifying us directly, as is standard practice, the former Attorney General launched an investigation and held a press conference before AMP even received notice.

The requested form contained general organizational information and an oath affirming that no funds support any terrorist activity, an affirmation AMP has consistently made publicly and under oath elsewhere. Despite AMP’s prompt filing of the form once it knew about it and submission of all standard documents, the former Attorney General still escalated his demands for intrusive requests for donor and volunteer information. AMP objected, and in 2025 a federal judge granted an Emergency Protective Order, recognizing that “the Constitution applies to all of us.”

Since its founding, AMP has consistently operated exclusively within the United States to educate the American public about Palestine’s rich history and heritage, to advocate for recognition with the United States of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, and to encourage a fair and principled U.S. policy. AMP’s leadership has repeatedly affirmed that the organization neither receives funds from nor sends funds to anywhere outside the United States, and that it fully complies with U.S. law.

The legal landscape shifted when the United States Supreme Court unanimously ruled in a similar case that compelled disclosure of donor information improperly restrains freedom of association, and that even the threat of enforcing an unconstitutional subpoena creates an unlawful chilling effect. Today, nearly a year later, the parties and courts now conclude the matter. Even “subject to AMP’s existing objections,” all parties now agree that the demanded information was neither necessary nor appropriate.

AMP’s Executive Director, Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid, stated: “AMP has endured years of targeted and unjust attacks, yet none of them shook our conviction in the justice of the cause we champion. Today, we close this chapter with deeper resolve and an unwavering commitment to our work.”

Christina A. Jump, AMP’s lead counsel, added: “For three years, AMP defended its rights without compromise. This resolution affirms that there was no legal basis for further demands or intrusion.”

AMP also acknowledges the dedicated work of Senior Staff Attorney Samira Elhosary of the Muslim Legal Fund of America, along with additional counsel who supported the case at both the state and federal levels.

AMP Demands The Immediate Release of Abdalkareem Issa Ahmed Safi

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) demands the immediate release of Abdalkareem Issa Ahmed Safi, an 18-year-old Palestinian-American citizen from Texas. In late June at approximately 3 A.M., Israeli Occupation Forces raided Abdalkareem’s home in Jalazone near Ramallah, where he is now imprisoned in Ofer Prison, a place where widespread abuses are well documented. Abdalkareem joins Sama Safi and Adam Karakrah as the third Palestinian-American citizen to be illegally detained by the IOF without charge or trial.

Abdalkareem’s kidnapping came amidst the backdrop of Israel's systematic targeting of Palestinian high-school students. Each year, as Palestinians prepare for their national high school exams in the early summer, the IOF conducts a series of dehumanizing raids meant to deny Palestinians the right to a dignified education and upend the Palestinian nuclear family.  Abdalkareem was a victim of this notorious practice that has impacted thousands of Palestinians since the inception of Israel’s occupation.

From Sayfollah Musallet, Rachel Corrie, to Shireen Abu Akleh, the systematic killing, abuse, and mistreatment of Palestinian-American citizens is a byproduct of the impunity afforded to Israel. Due to the lack of U.S. accountability over Israel’s genocide and apartheid, the IOF feels it can kidnap, torture, or kill Palestinians at a moment's notice. Hence, Abdalkareem’s kidnapping represents more than a simple detainment of an American citizen; it is emblematic of Israel's genocidal war on Palestinian existence.

Today, it is a detained Palestinian-American; tomorrow it could be a dead one. Too many American citizens have been mistreated by Israel without recourse. The time for accountability is now:

“AMP calls on the Trump administration and the U.S. State Department to immediately intervene and demand Abdalkareem’s release, along with the release of Sama Safi and Adam Karakah. The United States has an obligation to protect its citizens abroad, and Palestinian Americans must be afforded the same protection and urgency as any other American citizen across the world. The U.S. cannot continue providing Israel with unconditional political and military support while American citizens are detained, attacked, and killed with impunity. We will work tirelessly to demand justice and secure the release of all Palestinian-Americans held captive by Israel.” – Dr. Osama Abu Irshaid, AMP Executive Director

Israel has sealed off the occupied West Bank for the whole week, blocking movement and strangling already suffocated Palestinian communities.

At the same time, Israel’s Finance Minister threatened to completely destroy the West Bank, just as Israel “did in Gaza.”12

But Palestinian families refuse to be uprooted from their native land. On the cusp of three years of this current ongoing genocide, they’re preparing for the olive harvest season, nurturing the trees they’ve tended for generations. And you can take action to support their steadfastness.

Nico, you’re one of our most dedicated supporters. So with only a few days until the official launch of our annual Rooting Resistance campaign, I’m reaching out to personally invite you to help kickstart our efforts to plant olive trees as a peer-to-peer fundraiser.

Since 2010, the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights has partnered with the Palestine Fair Trade Association in Jenin to plant over 41,600 olive trees across Palestine. That number is only growing thanks to the generosity and commitment of supporters like you!

This October, our goal is to raise enough funds to plant 5,000 new olive saplings in Palestine.

That’s why I’m reaching out to you today, Nico. Become a partner in our Rooting Resistance campaign today by setting up a personal fundraising page. Invite your friends, family, and other supporters of Palestinian rights to plant olive trees in Palestine and support Palestinian farmers in remaining rooted to the land.

I want to help plant olive in Palestine!

Making your own campaign page with USCPR will expand our efforts as you invite your peers to take action for Palestine in this way. Whether you raise $50 or $500, any amount makes a difference—and just $25 plants one olive tree. To help you get started, we’ve outlined some tips and next steps in our fundraising toolkit, linked here.

If you have any questions, or need help setting up your personal fundraiser, please don’t hesitate to reach out by replying directly to this email or by phone at (703) 312-6360 (ext. 2).

In the weeks ahead, your support will help root resistance for generations to come and power the movement for Palestinian liberation here in the U.S. Thank you!

Gratefully,

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) condemns Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir’s vile incursion onto the compound of Masjid Al-Aqsa. During the illegal invasion, Ben Gvir and over 1500 illegal settlers were seen desecrating Al-Aqsa.

Ben Gvir called Israel the “owners of Al-Aqsa” and bragged about being responsible for the institutionalized torture of Palestinians inside Israeli prisons. These heinous acts come during the holy Jewish holiday of Sukkot, in which Israeli forces closed shops and barred Palestinian worshippers from entering Al-Aqsa – an act of collective punishment meant to impose Israeli dominance over the blessed Masjid and intimidate Palestinians into submission.

Make no mistake: Al-Aqsa is not for Israel to take, alter, or control, nor is it a stage for Ben Gvir to impose his messianic derangement. As the occupying power, Israel has no legal authority to alter protections for religious and cultural sites, or impose restrictions and permanent changes to them. AMP reaffirms Al Aqsa’s profound legal, religious, and cultural significance and will continue to work tirelessly to defend Palestinians’ rights to worship freely, access their holy sites, and protect Al Aqsa from efforts to alter its historic character and status.

AMP calls upon the U.S. and all world leaders to reject Israel’s attempt to take over Al-Aqsa and to hold this criminal Israeli government responsible for the crimes it has inflicted upon the Palestinian people and the broader Middle East.

Since the start of 2026, there have been more than 1,600 Israeli settler attacks on Palestinians and Palestinian property in the West Bank, averaging about 7 attacks per day.1
This is not an abstract statistic for our team. Palestinians across the West Bank, including our own friends and family, are saying the same thing: the Israeli assaults have increased exponentially and they are terrified.
For months, our communities have pushed members of Congress to do something about this campaign of violence—violence that has U.S. foreign military aid stamped all over it.
Finally, members of the Senate have responded by introducing Senate Resolution 852, a resolution requesting an investigation into Israel's human rights practices in the West Bank (pursuant to section 502B(c) of the Foreign Assistance Act) as a critical step towards cutting off military funding.
Tell your Senators to co-sponsor and vote YES on S.Res. 852 introduced by Chris Van Hollen. The bill is expected to be called for a vote as soon as TOMORROW.Write To Your Senators

If passed, S.Res. 852  would require the State Department to issue an official investigation and report on Israeli military and settler violence in the West Bank—including the murder of nine American citizens in recent years—within 30 days of the vote. If the State Department fails to produce the report within the mandated time frame, “foreign assistance” to Israel must be frozen.2

A recent poll by the Institute for Middle East Understanding found that 83% of Democrats and 82% of Republicans support State Department action in response to Israel’s violence in the West Bank, including investigating the murder of U.S. citizens by Israeli forces.3

Those numbers are some of the highest we’ve ever seen. It’s on us to ensure Senators are casting votes without a shadow of a doubt on where their constituents stand.

The bill has already been co-sponsored by nearly two dozen Senators.4 The action we take today could help double that number before the bill is called for a vote.

Contact your Senators now to demand they support Sen. Van Hollen’s 502B resolution and back all efforts to end U.S. complicity in decades of Israeli violence against Palestinians.

We know the attacks in the West Bank are part of a concerted effort to sever indigenous Palestinians’ connection to the land, soil and trees that form part of their DNA and have been in their care for centuries. We cannot stand by and watch it happen.

Senator Van Hollen’s resolution offers a path towards ending U.S. complicity in decades of Israeli oppression and ethnic cleansing. And every opportunity that arises to bring about a shred of accountability is an opportunity we cannot pass up.

Humanitarian Situation Report

25 September 2026

Highlights

  • Demolitions displaced 147 Palestinians across the West Bank in one week, more than three times the 2026 weekly average, including 58 people in South ‘Anata Bedouins, near the area designated for the E1 settlement expansion plan.
  • Israeli forces’ operations and movement restrictions disrupted access to essential services for thousands of Palestinians in Ramallah governorate, while operations by Israeli forces in Nablus temporarily displaced families and closed schools and a health clinic.
  • Funding shortfalls threaten mobile health services in Area C: 20 locations are at risk of losing mobile-clinic coverage without continued funding, while 17 locations are already without services.
  • In Gaza, shortages of cancer medications, chemotherapy and radiotherapy supplies, dialysis materials, insulin and engine oil – caused by underfunding and lack of clearance for limited available medicines to enter Gaza – are disrupting life-saving services.
  • The new academic year in Gaza began on 19 September with an estimated 200,000 children remaining out of school, amid funding shortfalls. Partners had prepared by removing rubble, cleaning some classrooms and providing bags and stationery. In the Strip, approximately 495,000 preschool and school-aged children are enrolled in learning spaces supported through the UN and partners’ humanitarian response.
  • Funding shortfalls and restrictions are severely constraining preparations for the rainy season, with very limited available stocks covering only a fraction of the needs; hundreds of child-friendly spaces and protection services face disruptions.
  • Across the Gaza Strip, 451 displacement sites identified as being at high risk of flooding these sites are hosting an estimated 464,402 people.

Overview

Violence and restrictions continue to drive humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, while shortfalls in humanitarian funding are further holding back relief efforts. Addressing Member States as part of the General Assembly High-level Week, the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres said that "we must not lose sight of the devastating situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory."

Regarding Gaza, he said that “the resumption of assistance since the ceasefire was announced last October has brough some relief – but conditions remain intolerable... International law, including international humanitarian law, is brazenly violated. Humanitarian access remains severely restricted, and the level of human suffering is still off the charts.” He reiterated the need to allow the UN to perform its mandates in Gaza and for UN and humanitarian personnel to be protected, stressing that all parties must comply with international law and the orders of the International Court of Justice.

Regarding the West Bank, he said that "record levels of settler attacks and relentless efforts to expand settlements are pushing Palestinian communities to the breaking point. Such actions are unlawful and unjust." The Secretary-General further said that violence, displacement and settlement expansion by Israel "are bulldozing the path to peace and raising the spectre of ethnic cleansing."

JVP

27 september 2026

On Thursday, Gaza was in the headlines for the first time in months. JVP’s mass sit-in in NYC helped put it there.

While Netanyahu came to give a speech at the U.N., we ensured the message of this week was the movement’s: Stop Arming Israel. Money for people not bombs. Free Palestine. And we telegraphed the political earthquake of support for Palestinian freedom coming to congress, as five Democratic nominees to Congress joined our protest.

Just as war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at the United Nations, 400 of us poured into the intersection right outside, wearing matching white t-shirts that read “Jews say fund people not bombs,” and crying out “Let Gaza live!”

With the eyes of the world on NYC, together we disrupted and intervened to remind the world that Netanyahu — Israel’s chief architect of genocide, apartheid, ethnic cleansing, and wars of aggression — could only carry out these crimes with the full backing of the U.S.

Capturing international headlines

I was talking with a fellow member before the protest about how our actions are like the cover of a book: inside are the many tactics and strategies we pursue day in and day out to achieve material wins in ending the U.S.-Israel alliance that upholds Israeli genocide and apartheid.

But in a moment like Thursday, our task is to bring attention back to the book’s cover title — Stop Arming Israel — and remind people of conscience everywhere of the task at hand.

Every time we stage a mass action like this one, we capture international headlines and keep eyes around the world on Palestine. Thursday's sit-in was covered in outlets around the world, including The Guardian, The New York Times, CNN and so many more.

We ensured that any and all coverage of Netanyahu’s visit directed the attention right where it belongs: at Israeli genocide and ethnic cleansing, at the enormous complicity of the U.S. government in every Israeli war crime, and at the power of everyday people to continue taking action to end that complicity.

Shifting the narrative

Present with us were actors Hannah Einbinder, Elliot Page, and Susan Sarandon, activists Glennon Doyle and Linda Sarsour, and so many others.

Four of JVP Action’s endorsed candidates for Congress, fresh off their primary victories, were there too: Darializa Avila Chevalier, Rep. Chris Rabb, Dr. Adam Hamawy, and Melat Kiros, as well as incoming Congressional representative Brad Lander, and over 20 New York city and state representatives and Democratic nominees.

The images of our people being arrested for speaking out against the genocide, alongside celebrities and elected officials, show just how far our movement has come in shifting public opinion toward support for Palestine — and how changing the narrative reinforces and strengthens our organizing for material change.

Stefanie Fox

Next week, September 28-October 1, activists in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Brazil, South Korea, Australia, UK, Germany, Norway, and the U.S are leading a global Week of Action against one of the most villainous, destructive tech corporations of all time: Palantir.

Join the People vs. Palantir Week of Action kick-off event online on Monday, September 28, at 9am PT / 12pm ET.

Over the last couple of years these activists have been mobilizing to ensure there’s a price to pay for the unthinkable harms Palantir is fueling against immigrants, Palestinians in Gaza, and other marginalized groups around the world.

Union members, city officials, organizers, and everyday people are pressuring local hospitals and government institutions to cut their contracts with Palantir. Now they’re escalating their efforts through a Week of Action spanning 10+ countries across the globe. And they need you with them!

Join the online People vs. Palantir kick-off event
Monday, September 28, 9am PT / 12pm ET

During the kick-off call, you’ll learn how to plug into the Week of Action through local events and online actions. You will also hear inspiring campaign updates from National Nurses United, one of the key leaders of the Purge Palantir movement, currently organizing to end Palantir’s contract with HCA Healthcare.2

Why is Palantir so dangerous?

Shortly after taking out a full page ad in the New York Times in October 2023 declaring “Palantir stands with Israel,” Palantir’s CEO Alex Karp announced on a company earnings call that he was “exceedingly proud that after Oct. 7, within weeks, we are on the ground and we are involved in operationally crucial operations in Israel.” 3

Palantir has supplied AI and computing tools to Israeli military and intelligence agencies since 2014, enabling the processing and integration of vast quantities of data from the surveillance technologies that map, track, and monitor every aspect of Palestinian life.4 This data is then fed into AI tools to generate “kill lists”––lists that have fueled the murder of more than 70,000 men, women and children in Gaza.5

Karp has defended the company’s support for this violence with blatantly racist remarks: “From my perspective, it’s not just about Israel [...] It’s like, ‘Do you believe in the West? Do you believe the West has created a superior way of living?’” 6

Far closer to home, Palantir is one of the main companies providing the technological infrastructure enabling ICE’s reign of terror and violence in cities across the U.S. 7, 8

From Turtle Island to Brazil to Gaza, we can’t let Palantir get away with the decimation of our communities.

Join the People vs. Palantir Week of Action by registering for the online kick-off event at 9am PT / 12pm ET on Monday, September 28!

Recapping our 12th annual Palestine Advocacy Days

As the 12th annual Palestine Advocacy Days comes to an end, we are reminded of our major successes and accomplishments, but more importantly, that our work has just begun. Our collective efforts derive much of their strength from the resilience of the Palestinian people, who will never surrender their quest for freedom, justice, and liberation.

On September 22nd, we closed out our 12th Annual Palestine Advocacy Days. As political dynamics shift dramatically toward justice, our work must match that pace, and this year’s Advocacy Days is a testament to that reality.

On opening night, we heard from Hani Almadhoun about the incredible work of Gaza Soup Kitchen, founded to combat mass starvation, malnutrition, and immense food insecurity in Gaza. Hani reminded us why we all needed to be in DC advocating for Palestine. He shared the harrowing story of the murder of his family by Israeli forces. Despite all of that suffering, he has kept the Gaza Soup Kitchen operational during the height of Israel’s continued starvation campaign. He reminded the audience that our work in DC and around the country gives him hope that change in Palestine, especially in Gaza, is within reach.

We then heard the incredible stories of two courageous advocates, Salah Sarsour and Leqaa Kordia, who were both detained by ICE for speaking out against the genocide of their people. AJP Action awarded them both the Spirit of Sumud Award for their resilience, steadfastness, and courage to speak truth to power. Their inspirational stories touched everyone.

The second day focused on preparing our advocates to meet confidently and effectively with their members of Congress. Advocates participated in trainings on how Congress works, the current political landscape, our legislative priorities and asks, and how to communicate those asks clearly and persuasively. We also walked through what to expect in a congressional meeting, how to share personal stories, and how to make the most of the limited time advocates have with lawmakers and their staff.

By the end of the day, advocates had the information, tools, and practice they needed to walk into their meetings prepared, informed, and ready to make their voices heard.

Then we took to the Hill! Hundreds of well-trained advocates marched toward Capitol Hill, showcasing their collective goal of educating and persuading our elected officials to do what is right and just. Even with the rising backlash, arrests, and suppression of basic rights and civil liberties, we refuse to be silent. The message on the Hill is clear: genocide must never be normalized, and the oppression of the Palestinian people must never be an acceptable status quo ever again. They tried to silence us, but failed.  They tried to intimidate us, and they failed again. Today’s generation of advocates is fearless and committed to justice, and they are willing to sacrifice their time and more to achieve what justice demands: a free Palestine.

Our delegation held more than 200 meetings with Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate, demonstrating incredible strength, unity, and purpose.

While on the Hill, we advocated for:

  • H.R. 3565 - Block the Bombs Act: This bill ends the American supply of the deadliest weapons of war that America continues to give Israel.
  • Opposition to NSRP & NDAA: The NSRP includes billions of dollars in an appropriations package, and the NDAA’s main goal is to eventually codify the merger of American and Israeli militaries.
  • Ending Israeli Impunity & Defending the First Amendment
  • Opposition to the Displacement of Palestinians, settler violence, and ongoing assaults on Christian and Muslim freedom of worship
  • Justice for Americans, medical workers, and others kidnapped, killed, and injured by Israel.
  • Restoring American funding/assistance to UNRWA & other international humanitarian programs

Our collective advocacy sent an undeniable message: Palestinian & American rights are non-negotiable. No amount of repression, suppression, censorship, fear-mongering, or political posturing will stop this growing movement for Palestinian liberation. The movement for Palestinian rights is growing and has entered the mainstream.

The 12th annual Advocacy Days represent our renewed efforts for change. The struggle for Palestinian freedom continues, and what we built together in Washington must ripple outward into every state, every district, and every community. Every call, every meeting, every act of civic resistance pushes us closer to a future rooted in justice, freedom, and equality for all.

In solidarity,

Americans for Justice in Palestine Action

Op 7 oktober speelt in Theater Rotterdam No Man’s Land – الأرض الحرام van de Nederlands-Libanees-Palestijnse artiest Alaa Minawi.

Petitie over Songfestival-deelname

Leestip: EO-documentaire over UNRWA is beschamende propaganda

Wettelijke dwang is nodig.

Strijdbare groet,

Dwang is nodig

A war criminal landed in NYC today.

This afternoon, hundreds of people took to the streets in New York City to protest Netanyahu's speech at the United Nations General Assembly as Israel continues its genocide in Gaza unabated, allows escalating settler violence in the occupied West Bank, and bombs Lebanon and Iran.

Over 100 people were arrested for participating in a mass anti-war sit-in outside the UN before Netanyahu’s speech, including 20 elected officials; artists Hannah Einbinder, Elliot Page, and Lucy Dacus, as well as whistleblower Chelsea Manning.

We need your help to amplify the protesters’ demands.

Write to your lawmakers today and demand that they stop facilitating Israel’s war crimes.

Tell them to Block the Bombs, block more money for Israel’s wars, and reject the Netanyahu-designed U.S.-Israel military merger in the Pentagon spending bill.

Write Your LawmakersJust a week before Netanyahu’s visit, Trump approved a $2.8 billion sale of one-ton bombs to Israel in what will be one of the largest deliveries of U.S. munitions to Israel if it goes through.

At the same time, Israel’s allies in Congress are working to pass a $1.15 TRILLION Pentagon budget that includes what Netanyahu calls “his plan”: a disturbing proposal to merge U.S. and Israeli military data, surveillance technology, and weapons development processes. If passed, it would make it nearly impossible to cut ties with Israel, and make both the U.S. and Israeli surveillance states much deadlier.

Write to your lawmakers and tell them that war criminals are not welcome in our cities or to our tax dollars.

This isn’t just about stopping Netanyahu. It’s about fully dismantling Israel’s violent system of military occupation and apartheid. The responsibility goes far beyond one leader, and the U.S. government must end its toxic alliance with Israel, no matter who is in charge.

The Israel-U.S. war machine is costing the lives of thousands of Palestinians, Lebanese, and Iranian people—and it will keep killing unless we do something to stop it.

While Netanyahu’s visit to New York makes headlines, we need to use the attention to show our lawmakers that their constituents are only getting louder and more active.

Send a message to your members of Congress and demand they block the bombs and stop the Deadly Merger now.

Not everyone is in New York and not everyone can hit the streets, but if you live in the U.S., you can still make an outsized impact by writing to your lawmakers today.

Support the people putting their bodies on the line by amplifying their demands: NO weapons. NO military merger. And NO war criminals in our streets!!!

AMP Calls on World Leaders to Protest Netanyahu’s United Nations Speech

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) condemns allowing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC), to visit New York and speak at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). A man wanted for crimes against humanity should be treated as a pariah, not embraced as a legitimate head of state. That is why AMP calls on world leaders and foreign dignitaries to walk out of the assembly during Netanyahu’s speech.

Israel and Netanyahu’s contempt for the UN and international law is inseparable from the pro-Israel lobby’s longstanding influence in American politics. AIPAC and other U.S. pro-Israel institutions spread disinformation and bribe Congress into accepting their corrupt narrative. These nefarious activities have allowed Netanyahu to bend U.S. foreign policy to his will, imposing enormous costs on the American people. Since 1948, the U.S. has provided Israel with over $300 billion in economic and military assistance, adjusted for inflation, making Israel the largest recipient of U.S. foreign aid. Since October 2023 alone, the U.S. has provided at least $21.7 billion in military aid to Israel through September 2025, not including tens of billions more in arms sales and commitments to be paid or delivered in the years ahead.

It is not surprising that the U.S. continues its fealty to Netanyahu and Israel. That support has extended well beyond funding and weapons. The U.S. has repeatedly used its diplomatic power to shield Israel by vetoing over 50 UN Security Council resolutions. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also imposed sanctions against members of the UN and ICC. Trump explicitly made the purpose of this campaign clear, admitting that Rubio’s sanctions are designed to “defend Bibi.”

For the second year in a row, the Trump administration has banned a Palestinian delegation from attending the UN General Assembly, citing, among other things, Palestinian efforts to “internationalize” the “conflict” through institutions like the ICC. The hypocrisy is staggering. Palestinians are punished for pursuing protection under international law, but Israel is rewarded for violating it.

Netanyahu’s presence on U.S. soil also affronts those who oppose him. 59% of Americans view Netanyahu negatively, while 60% now view Israel unfavorably. Americans reject Netanyahu, see Israel as a moral and strategic liability, and no longer want to be affiliated with them, politically or financially.

It is long overdue for the U.S., the UN, and the global community to stand up to Israel. No more toothless condemnations and milquetoast statements. The Palestinian people want the genocide and apartheid to end; not half-hearted efforts.

In solidarity,

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)

22 september 2026

Last Tuesday, Palestinian American human rights lawyer and activist, Noura Erakat, was arrested at a budget hearing in Palm Beach County, Florida while opposing the county’s $1 billion holding in Israel bonds. She was arrested in a public meeting for attempting to speak about how public money is being spent.

Noura was among a large group of community members organized by The Internationalist Law Center who packed the room to speak up against the reinvestment of funds in Israel bonds leading up to their expiration on Nov. 1. They showed up to the hearing to give public comment in opposition to these investments.

But when they arrived, speakers were given only one minute instead of the usual three, nonresidents were told they could not speak, and attendees were warned that they could be removed for applauding. Officials also claimed that Israel bonds could not be discussed because they were a “policy matter,” not a budget matter, even though the county’s billion-dollar investment was precisely why people came to the budget hearing. More than a dozen police officers were sent in to remove attendees opposing the investment, with threats of violence if they did not comply.

Palm Beach County is the largest municipal investor in Israel bonds in the world, lending $1 billion in public funds directly to the Israeli government. These are unrestricted loans. The proceeds enter Israel’s general treasury and are not earmarked for hospitals, infrastructure, or any other civilian purpose. Israel can use them for any purpose, including military and defense spending and the infrastructure that sustains its occupation and genocide.

In a statement following her release, Noura wrote, “The whole scenario was absurd and a glimpse into how protecting Israel requires the sabotage of democratic norms.”

This was not simply the arrest of one prominent Palestinian advocate. It was an attempt to remove Palestine from public debate and separate public spending from public scrutiny. Palm Beach County officials treated investing $1 billion in Israel as a legitimate use of public money, while treating opposition to that investment as something that did not belong in the room.

The latest crackdown on organizers in Palm Beach County reminds us not only that our tax dollars are funding Israel’s oppression of Palestinians, but that those same tax dollars will be used to crush any dissent against the practice. Public money is being lent to the Israeli government, and public institutions and law enforcement are being mobilized against people who challenge it.

U.S. public support for Israel has plummeted since it began its genocide in Gaza. In 2026, Gallup found that, for the first time in the poll’s history, more Americans sympathized with Palestinians than with Israelis. Pew also found that 60% of Americans now view Israel unfavorably, up from 42% in 2022. The ugly reality of the Israeli regime, and the deep complicity of our governments, institutions, and corporations here in the U.S., has been laid bare for the world to see.

That shift is not only visible in polling. It is visible in packed public hearings, growing divestment campaigns, legal challenges, and communities demanding that their money be used to meet their needs instead of propping up a foreign government carrying out genocide.

If we care about democracy and fighting fascism, then we must also commit ourselves to the struggle for a free Palestine. Democracy means that people have the right to question how their government spends public money, to name the violence the money enables, and to do so without being dragged from public meetings in handcuffs. We do that by speaking up even when we are scared of reprisal, understanding that the consequences we face are just a fraction of what Palestinians living under Israeli occupation and genocide experience daily.

And we do that by taking down the pillars propping up Israel’s economy through Boycott, Sanctions, and Divestment (BDS) campaigns. That includes ending all investments in Israel bonds.

More than $67 million of Palm Beach County’s Israel bonds expire on November 1. That gives county officials a choice: reinvest millions of taxpayer dollars in the Israeli government or move that public money elsewhere. Before that decision is made, organizers are mobilizing for two critical county commission meetings. Officials tried to clear the room, but growing public anger cannot be arrested out of existence. Now we need even more people to show up, speak out, and help build the campaign to break the bonds.

Here are two ways you can get involved in the fight to divest from Israel bonds:

  1. Give public comment in opposition to Israel bonds and help pack the room at the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners meetings on October 6 and October 20. *You don’t need to live in the county to comment, and travel and lodging assistance are available to people who join from out of town.*

  2. Join the Our Taxes, Our Needs campaign and help organizers build up sustained capacity to win this fight. *Again, you don’t need to be a Palm Beach resident to join—there are lots of virtual roles for people who want to support from anywhere!* Once you fill out the form, an organizer will follow up with you to bring you on-board and share ways you can be a part of the work.

Help us chip away at the foundation of Israeli apartheid and genocide, piece by piece.

World leaders are gathering at the 81st Session of the UNGA this week. On 18 September 2024, the UN overwhelmingly endorsed the ICJ ruling that Israel’s occupation is illegal and constitutes apartheid, voting for sanctions to end complicity in both.

It set a deadline for Israel to end its illegal occupation - September 2025.

This is 1 year overdue. No consequences for Israel. Israel is blatantly defying international law and the UN as a whole.

Its livestreamed genocide of Palestinians in Gaza has continued for three years, funded, armed and shielded by the colonial West. In the illegally occupied West Bank, apartheid Israel’s military occupation forces and Israeli settler militias systematically terrorize and ethnically cleanse Palestinian communities – murdering and maiming thousands.

We need you to channel your rage and grief into effective, strategic BDS accountability action now.

Across Palestine, Palestinian farmers are preparing for the upcoming olive harvest season, a time when families, neighbors, and entire communities gather in their groves to tend to the land and harvest olives from trees that have been passed down for generations.

Unfortunately, the olive harvest season is increasingly plagued by violent Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian farmers.

Palestinian farmers and their families are often barred from accessing their own lands and harvesting the fruits of their labor, as Israeli settlers poison, cut down, and set fire to centuries-old trees with complete impunity. In recent years, Israeli settler violence has only increased across the West Bank.

Despite these ongoing threats, Palestinian families remain steadfast, because the olive harvest is more than just a source of income. The olive harvest is a form of popular resistance through which Palestinians reclaim their lands, livelihoods, and freedom.

As Palestinian farmers fight for their lives and their land, those of us in the U.S. and around the world must remain steadfast in our solidarity.

That’s why the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) has partnered with the Palestine Fair Trade Association (PFTA) since 2010 to plant over 41,600 olive saplings across Palestine.

As we prepare to launch our annual Rooting Resistance campaign on October 1, you can join us. Invite your community to support Palestinian farmers in their refusal to be uprooted from their land.

Become a partner in our Rooting Resistance campaign today by setting up a personal fundraising page. Invite your friends, family, and other supporters to plant olive trees in Palestine and support Palestinian farmers in remaining rooted to the land.

I want to help plant olive in Palestine!

Our goal is to raise enough funds this year to plant another 5,000 olive trees—but we only have until October 31 to do so.

As a Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Fundraiser with USCPR this fall, you can help increase the impact of USCPR and PFTA’s partnership by making your own fundraising page to plant olive trees in Palestine. Once you sign up, we will provide all the tools you need to get started and to reach out to your family and friends.

Set up your personal fundraising page today. Your partnership and support will help root resistance for generations to come and power the movement for Palestinian liberation here in the U.S.

Zo kunt u bijvoorbeeld zien:

  • welke moties Kamerleden indienen en hoe partijen daarover stemmen;

  • welke Kamervragen politici stellen en wat het kabinet daarop antwoordt;

  • welke Kamerleden, bewindspersonen en partijen zich met Palestina en Israël bezighouden;

Of u nu activist, journalist, onderzoeker bent of simpelweg wilt weten hoe volksvertegenwoordigers handelen.

Humanitarian Situation Report

18 September 2026

Search and rescue operations in Gaza city following the collapse of a war-damaged residential building. Photo by UNRWA

Highlights

  • In Gaza city, 21 people, including 12 children, were reportedly killed, and dozens more injured, when a war-damaged residential building collapsed on 16 September; many remain in unsafe buildings for lack of better housing arrangements.
  • Search and rescue operations as well as the ability to repair damaged buildings and help those choosing to relocate from flood-prone areas ahead of the rains are limited by shortages of machinery, fuel, engine oil, spare parts and other supplies.
  • Cases of impetigo, a highly contagious bacterial skin infection primarily affecting young children, continued to increase, with a total of 45,190 reported between 2 August and 12 September. One new case of acute flaccid paralysis was reported, bringing the cumulative total to 21 in 2026.
  • Two temporary dumping sites have exceeded capacity and closed, raising concerns that Israeli restrictions on access to Gaza’s landfills near the Green Line result in increased public health risks.
  • While a US$2 million Humanitarian Fund allocation and a 1.5 million-litre fuel grant will help sustain health services and other critical services amid Gaza’s prolonged power crisis, more humanitarian funding is urgently needed alongside approvals for sustainable solutions.
  • In the West Bank, more than 1,100 structures have been demolished for lacking building permits in 2026, displacing over 1,500 people – over a third of the more than 4,300 Palestinians displaced so far this year.
  • Settler attacks are affecting an expanding geographic area: 275 Palestinian communities have been affected so far in 2026, nearly as many as the 279 affected during all of 2025, the highest annual figure recorded since 2006.
  • In Qusra, three Palestinian families have remained largely isolated for more than five weeks following the establishment of a nearby settlement outpost, with restrictions limiting their movement and access to education and humanitarian assistance.
  • In Umm Safa, settlement outpost expansion and a newly installed settler road gate have further isolated a Palestinian family from the rest of the village, amid recurrent settler attacks and intimidation.

Overview

Palestinians across the Occupied Palestinian Territory continue to be exposed to systemic violence and restrictions that cause casualties, property damage, displacement and loss of livelihoods. Humanitarian operations are limited by persistent restrictions and underfunding.

Speaking to journalists in New York on 16 September 2026, Secretary-General of the United Nations António Guterres said that in the Middle East, “de-escalation must be priority one, priority two and priority three.” He called upon all parties to cease any actions that harm civilians and ensure that humanitarian operations can proceed safely and without obstruction.

The Secretary-General said that “we must never forget the dramatic suffering of the Palestinian people – both in Gaza and the West Bank,” noting that the peace plan for Gaza must be fully implemented with unrestricted humanitarian aid. He further said that the creeping annexation of the West Bank must stop, concluding that there will be no peace in the Middle East without realizing the Two-State solution.

That same day, Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Tom Fletcher had a call with the Prime Minister of the State of Palestine, Mohammad Mustafa. Mr. Fletcher said that through the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, he will be pushing a global access initiative to reach 11 million people with live-saving aid – adding that as part of this, it is urgent that we are able to bring in supplies to support some two million people in Gaza through the winter.

Mattan here. In 2017, I refused to take part in the Israeli occupation, and I spent 110 days in prison. A couple of weeks ago, the United Kingdom announced that it will implement sanctions and a trade ban on products from Israeli settlements and companies which operate in the Occupied West Bank over the upcoming months. Boycotting can be a very effective action against the occupation. Personally, I see this as a welcomed move by the UK. However, international pressure will be much stronger if it’s coupled with strong resistance from within — to disrupt and end the occupation. That is why Resistance Solidarity Network builds a community to support the Jewish and Palestinians who resist the Israeli occupation.

The Israeli occupation does not exist in a vacuum. It exists because of passive and active cooperation from Israeli society and the international community. Israel depends on international trade, from appliances, cars, and food to weapons. Without imports and exports, it will be hard to sustain the occupation. It will put strong pressure on Israel to end the occupation. Although boycotting the settlements is an effective action, it has many problems: it is narrow, it may take years to implement, it could be changed by a new government, and it leaves much of the economic infrastructure that sustains the occupation untouched.

The fight against apartheid in South Africa taught us the importance of resisting oppression from outside and within. Anti-apartheid South African activists resisted from within and cracked their society's cooperation with the regime. They led massive disobedience actions that disrupted the regime and made it hard for the international community to ignore it and not take action. Together, they made it impossible for the apartheid regime to continue.
This is why we, in the Resistance Solidarity Network, put so much emphasis on amplifying, voices of resisters. By sharing their stories, people hear about their actions, get inspired to act in their home country and support the resisters in Israeli/Palestine. Like that, we support growing the resistance from within and from without so we can end the occupation.

The more we are, the more people hear the resisters' stories, the more action people take in their home countries, the more support the resisters receive, the closer we get to ending the occupation. Today, I would like to ask you to forward this email to 3 friends and family members and ask them to join us via this link.

If your social media algorithm is at all like mine, it’s likely you’ve seen A LOT of content about Ed Sheeran, Macklemore, Pink, and Robert Kraft this week.

On Wednesday, Kraft himself weighed in. The billionaire owner of the New England Patriots put out a public statement on X, attempting to tamp down the widespread condemnation of his efforts to silence Macklemore for calling for a “Free Palestine” from stage.

In the statement Kraft intimated he would be matching a $2 million donation from Ed Sheeran “to aid in the region” (he wouldn’t say which organizations or where) while claiming that he “believe[s] deeply that all lives are worth protecting.”

Here’s the issue: direct aid can only go so far when Israel continues to restrict aid, food, and medical supplies going into Gaza.

We need policy changes, not just vague pledges to give “charity.”

We need our government to stop funding a genocidal ethno-state, not more billionaires and celebrities giving money to mystery charities that they don’t disclose while asking us to trust them that they truly care about Palestinian lives.

Robert Kraft himself is a major donor to Friends of the Israeli “Defense” Forces, an organization that raises money from U.S. donors to support the Israeli military—a military actively committing a genocide right now.

Furthermore, there is a documented record of Kraft participating in discussions about Gaza’s future with Jared Kushner [1]. In December 2023, Axios reported that Kraft attended a private New York meeting organized by Kushner and Ivanka Trump with Qatar’s prime minister, venture capitalists, investors, and policymakers. Kushner has publicly described Gaza as valuable real estate, promoted a vision of a “New Gaza” as the “Riviera of the Middle East,” and proposed displacing Palestinians from areas of Gaza to make way for redevelopment.
Kraft's $2 million dollar charity donation is a ruse. How does he expect us to believe he cares about Palestinian life while he actively funds a military committing a genocide against Palestinians, as he attends meetings on how to best profit from their ethnic cleansing?
We can’t trust billionaires to solve our problems or have our best interests at heart.
As we’ve seen this year and in this story itself, the only thing that can counter the power of billionaires like Robert Kraft, is organized people power and mass movements.

We need infrastructure and organizers to build people power strong enough to stand up against organized money.

That’s what Adalah Justice Project does every day.

Our team has been researching the players behind Trump’s “Gaza Humanitarian Foundation” and the so-called Board of Peace to expose the individuals behind the genocide and the way billionaires like Kraft are trying to profit from it. This research has been vital for organizers supporting people-driven campaigns to challenge these efforts and the billionaires who prop them up.

We saw a glimpse of what people power could do over the last week when Macklemore went public and every single supporting act on the tour withdrew in solidarity, including Ed Sheeran’s own backing band. The fact that Kraft had to pledge millions to direct aid in a desperate attempt to generate some good will shows us that he didn’t see this response coming. Let’s keep going.

Israel Bonds can't sold in Europe — for now.

Last month Luxembourg announced that it would no longer support the sale of European Israel Bonds. That means Israel Bonds can no longer be sold anywhere in Europe — for now.

To gain access to European investors, an EU member state must approve Israel to issue its bonds. Luxembourg's move leaves no willing countries. Last year, EU Israel Bonds sales provided $2.5 billion in unrestricted loans to the Israeli military and government — unrestricted loans to weather the economic fallout of genocide and apartheid.

And this month, 12 countries including the UK, Canada, and France announced sanctions and trade restrictions on products from illegal Israeli settlements.

The decision comes in response to the sharp uptick in Israeli settler violence across the Occupied West Bank, with over 1,400 settler attacks carried out so far this year alone and thousands of Palestinians displaced from their homes as a direct result of this violence.

Years of grassroots campaigning to stop the flow of international dollars to Israeli apartheid and genocide are starting to pay off…

We’re reading: “Taking a side can cost you… Free Palestine”

Earlier this week, Macklemore was kicked off Ed Sheeran’s Loop tour, for which he had been opening. Zionists had been increasingly shrill in their demands that Macklemore be removed, for the crime of saying from the stage that Palestinians deserved to live. Finally, Robert Kraft — billionaire owner of the Patriots and friend to Trump — organized other stadium owners to issue an ultimatum to Sheeran: Keep Macklemore, and you will not play our venue.

Macklemore’s statement was an earthquake online, garnering 5 million views in the first 24 hours, and hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of shares. Within 24 hours, all Sheeran’s other openers quit in solidarity — and even his band, leaving the tour in shambles.

Amidst these latest stands of of solidarity with Palestinians, we are once again reminded that our movement stands on the right side of history, with tens and hundreds of millions desperate for an end to Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

We’re reading: Over 200 Rabbis call to block bombs to Israel

Over 200 rabbis have endorsed the Block the Bombs Act, historic legislation that would suspend the shipment of the most lethal U.S. weapons to Israel.

“In this season when Jews reflect and remember our sacred values and blow the shofar of awakening, we urge Congress to reject its participation in these assaults by passing the Block the Bombs Act.”

The Wire is one of the largest American publications dedicated to justice. Every week, we cover important news from Palestine, the United States, and the Palestine solidarity movement — and provide ways to take action.

I am once again asking for you to join our phonebank tomorrow, Sept 16th at 7pm ET to stop the Deadly U.S.-Israel Military Merger.

We've heard rumblings that the Senate could vote on the NDAA this week, so we’re going all out to jam their phone lines.

Yesterday, a number of you joined us for an all-day marathon phonebank. Together we made over 24,000 calls and recruited 180 new volunteers to join our efforts.

Grandmothers joined with their grandsons, friends gathered in living rooms, and we all encouraged each other to keep taking action together.

Let’s keep that momentum going, and show these senators that we aren’t going anywhere until our government ends its complicity in Israel’s crimes.

Sign up to phonebank

Tomorrow evening, we’ll be making supporter-to-supporter calls again. You’ll call constituents of strategically important senators and patch them directly through to their offices.

We’re going to target several senators on the Armed Services Committee and Appropriations Committee who have the most say on what makes it into the final version of the NDAA and whether or not it will include the Deadly Merger provision (House Section 219/Senate Section 1217).

We have an opportunity right now to demand that our senators refuse to move forward with a vote on the NDAA until the Deadly Merger provision is removed. This is our best chance to block this provision before the conference process.

When our politicians are about to authorize a $1.15 trillion national defense budget in the middle of a devastating affordability crisis, with a provision that deepens our ties to a genocidal nation, we must demonstrate MASS DISSENT.

It is absolutely unconscionable for our government to pass policy that would further integrate U.S. and Israeli military tech, data and weapons production as Israel continues its genocide against the Palestinian people.

We cannot stand by as our lawmakers quietly sweep “Netanyahu’s plan” to entrench U.S. funding for the Israeli war machine into a broad Pentagon spending bill.

Please join us tomorrow night to help make some noise and ramp up the pressure.

RSVP now

AMP Launches Campaign Demanding United Airlines Stop Transporting Weapons to Israel Aboard Civilian Passenger Flights

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), alongside a coalition of civil rights and advocacy organizations, launched a campaign demanding that United Airlines immediately end its transportation of weapons and military equipment to Israel aboard civilian passenger flights. AMP and its coalition partners issued a joint letter to United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby, President Brett Hart, the company’s Board of Directors, and its Office of Ethics and Compliance.

The campaign follows recent reporting by The Intercept that United Airlines resumed the shipments after a brief hiatus caused by the Iran war. Between July 24, 2025, and February 27, 2026, United Airlines transported over 3,000 loads of military material to Israel, with some shipments destined for Israel’s Ministry of Defense, Elbit Systems, Lockheed Martin facilities, and other Israeli military air bases.

These shipments coincided with Israel’s active genocide in Gaza and International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, for crimes against humanity and using starvation as a method of warfare against Palestinians in Gaza. AMP and its coalition partners will not stop until United Airlines publicly commits to ending this heinous practice.

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to engaging & educating Americans on Palestinian rights and the Israeli occupation. AMP is a premier national organization in the Palestine solidarity movement.

15 september 2026

So far this September, the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) has instigated two new legal fronts in Georgia and Slovenia while filing new cases in France and Italy.

These new cases span every level of the machinery of genocide in Gaza: from a civilian excavator operator, to a platoon commander, and cabinet ministers inciting and shaping Israel’s policies of ethnic cleansing and mass destruction.

Georgia: HRF filed a criminal complaint against Israeli civilian excavator operator Sali Israel Hazut while he was on holiday in Batumi, for war crimes linked to his documented destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure across Gaza.

Slovenia: Ahead of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s visit to Ljubljana, HRF filed its third criminal complaint against him for alleged war crimes and acts of genocide, including attacks on hospitals, starvation, mass destruction, and displacement in Gaza.

France: Investigation by HRF led to a complaint filed against former platoon commander Elitzur Gitler for attacks on civilians and protected objects in Gaza. He was in Paris attending a sports championship.

Italy: Following her arrival in Italy on 6 September, HRF filed a criminal complaint against Israeli Minister of Environmental Protection, Idit Silman, for her direct and public incitement to genocide.

Georgia

HRF filed a criminal complaint with the Georgian Public Prosecutor's Office against Israeli citizen, Sali Israel Hazut, while he was on holiday in Batumi. Hazut’s demolition company was contracted by the Israeli army to operate heavy machinery in Gaza.

Hazut is not an IDF soldier. He is one of the many civilian operators recruited by Israel’s Ministry of Defense since 2024 to drive operate the bulldozers and excavators that have erased entire neighbourhoods under military supervision. Much of Gaza’s physical destruction was outsourced—carried out by private companies paid to do the work.

Hazut proudly documented his own work, posting videos since May 2025 of himself demolishing residential buildings and civilian objects in Jabalia, Beit Hanoun, Shuja'iyya, Al-Atatra, and Khan Younis. His posts included and and montages commemorating hundreds of destroyed buildings he destroyed, including footage filmed inside Palestinian homes, and a clip mocking a resident who recognized his own house being razed.

The complaint concerns details the war crimes of:

  • Intentional attacks on civilian objects;,

  • Extensive destruction of property without military necessity;, and,

  • Attacks on buildings dedicated to education and religion.

The total destruction of housing and civilian infrastructure Hazut is implicated in
may also constitute genocide under the Genocide Convention.

Slovenia

Ahead of Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar’s 9–10 September visit to open Israel’s new embassy in Ljubljana, HRF filed a criminal complaint with the Ljubljana District Prosecutor’s Office and police.

As a member of Israel’s Security Cabinet throughout the genocide, Sa’ar helped shape, approve, and defend policies governing military operations in Gaza.

HRF’s investigation links Sa'ar's to alleged wilful killing, torture, attacks on hospitals and medical units, starvation of civilians as a method of warfare and acts of genocide in Gaza, including specifically:

  • The attack on Kamal Adwan Hospital;

  • The arbitrary detention and torture of its director, Dr. Hossam Abu Safiyeh;

  • Mass destruction of civilian objects

  • Mass displacement of Palestinians in Gaza; and

  • Denial of humanitarian aid into Gaza, including food, water, fuel, and medical supplies.

The Slovenia complaint is HRF’s third action against Sa’ar, following cases in Brussels and London, as HRF continues to ensure diplomatic status is not used to shield perpetrators of genocide and other international crimes from accountability.

France

An HRF investigation, in collaboration with Urgence Palestine, formed the basis of a complaint filed by French MP Thomas Portes against Israeli army platoon commander, Elitzur Gitler, who was in Paris to compete in the 2026 Roundnet World Championship.

Gitler served  in the Lahav Company of the 9th Armored Battalion, 401st Armored Brigade ina command position directing tactical movements,  fire support, and  operational orders on the ground.

The investigation documents four incidents in which Gitler's unit is implicated::

  • The attack on Rantisi Children’s Hospital,Gaza City;

  • The destruction of Bani Suheila Square,Khan Younis;

  • he destruction of buildings in Hamad City, Khan Younis;

  • The demolition of the Hassan al-Banna Mosque and the Tiberias School, Khan Younis.

Despite the suspect’s presence in France, French restrictions on universal jurisdiction, including the requirement of a “sufficient link” to France,
obstruct prosecution of international crimes and create a safe haven for traveling genocidaires.

Italy

HRF filed a criminal complaint against Israel's Minister of Environmental Protection Idit Silman for direct and public incitement to commit genocide, upon her arrival in Italy with her husband on 6 September.

The case rests on Silman’s own statements, documented over two years while serving as a cabinet minister, including:

  • Repeatedly declaring that, “the only solution for Gaza was to empty Gaza of Gazans.”

  • Confirming that Israel had “most definitely stopped humanitarian aid,” to Gaza;

  • Signing a letter urging consideration of the Generals’ Plan to seal off cut off food, water, and fuel  and to northern Gaza; and,

  • Repeatedly denying the existence of a Palestinian people.,

Incitement to genocide is a crime in its own right. Silman’s office does not make these statements more immune to prosecution.

  • We hebben geholpen om 3,5 hectare landbouwgrond weer bruikbaar te maken, waar nu aubergines, tomaten, erwten, bonen en aardappelen worden verbouwd;
  • We hebben 47 boerengezinnen gesteund en 94 banen gecreëerd;

Free Jerusalem are here. We are an activist group that has been organizing grassroots resistance activities to Israeli apartheid since 2014 and has recently started collaborating with the Resistance Solidarity Network. With their help, made possible through the generous support of people just like you, Nico, we can keep organizing and fighting on the ground. Let us tell you a little about our work over the past few years, and what we’re bracing ourselves for in the future.

Support the Resistance Solidarity Network

Based in Jerusalem, over more than a decade we have been organzing demonstrations and direct actions against the displacement and dispossession of Palestinians in the West Bank, and particularly in East Jerusalem. Recently, and in light of the broader events in Palestine/Israel, we have also been organizing against human rights violations as part of the genocide in Gaza, the torture of Palestinian political prisoners, and the ongoing attacks on Lebanon and Iran.

Living in Jerusalem, our main concern is the struggle against the apartheid regime’s actions in occupied East Jerusalem, where Israel relies on its oppressive laws and biased legal system to discriminate against Palestinian residents. It has utilized these supposedly “legal” practices for decades now, openly collaborating with settler organizations to displace Palestinians from their homes across East Jerusalem’s neighborhoods.

Source: Free Jerusalem Instagram page

Since October 2023, it has only been getting worse. One of the most highly targeted areas is Silwan, a district in East Jerusalem.  Recently, we’ve seen an unprecedented increase in home demolitions and deportations in the neighborhood. It is estimated that over the last 24 months, 450-500 Palestinians have been displaced in Silwan: around 300 residents had their homes demolished in the Al-Bustan neighborhood alone, and around 160 people in the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood were forced to leave their homes, which have now been repopulated with settlers. Over 1500 Palestinians in Silwan are currently facing similar threats.

In the past, we at Free Jerusalem have been active in solidarity with Palestinian families’ legal struggles against ethnic cleansing and displacement. Some have been more successful than others, when the Supreme Court has ruled against or at least postponed evictions and demolitions.

Support the Resistance Solidarity Network

Following the recent escalation and the further threats and violence against acts of resistance shared by Palestinian and Israeli activists, we started organizing more activities also on the Western side of Jerusalem. Some of the actions we organized include:

  • Protests in Jerusalem’s City Center, interrupting live cultural events aimed at highlighting the “unity” of the city.

  • Joining Palestinian-led protests organized by Silwan’s residents; hosting screenings of the film One Street in Silwan (2025), which included discussions with the audience and the neighborhood’s residents.

  • Handing out leaflets with information across the city, including university campuses.

  • Collecting signatures from Jerusalemites, directed at the city’s mayor, demanding that he stop the displacements; holding a fundraiser for the families of Batn al-Hawa.

  • And, only a month ago, we joined a solidarity presence action in the Wadi Hilweh neighborhood in Silwan, accompanying a family who has been subjected to harassment from settlers.

Silwan, Occupied East Jerusalem

As more and more Palestinians are at risk of eviction and displacement, our fight is far from over. We have just started operating a new group for sharing updates on the situation at Silwan, and coordinating new actions at a larger scale. We work in collaboration with Palestinian-led activist groups in Jerusalem, and hope to continue to evolve and grow our actions until all people are free.

Thanks to the support of the Resistance Solidarity Network, we can keep doing just that: remain in Jerusalem, struggle together, and promote change.
You can help RSN support movements such as Free Jerusalem, making our fight for freedom and justice for all just a little more bearable.

In solidarity,
Free Jerusalem activists

Humanitarian Situation Report

11 September 2026

Highlights

  • Between January and August 2026, more than 1,600 settler attacks resulting in Palestinian casualties or property damage were documented across 275 communities, averaging 6.7 attacks per day, up from five per day in 2025.
  • Some 846,000 students began the new school year in the West Bank amid continued access constraints, while regular schooling remains disrupted for more than 4,000 displaced students, and 19 schools remain inaccessible, closed or abandoned.
  • In Gaza, preparations are underway for the new academic year, planned to begin on 19 September, including through 359 temporary learning spaces.
  • Two waves of demolitions in three communities in Masafer Yatta between 2 and 8 September displaced 57 people, including 27 children. So far in 2026, about 1,500 Palestinians have been displaced by demolitions across the West Bank.
  • Vaccination efforts in the West Bank continued in response to the Foot-and-Mouth Disease outbreak, with nearly 50,000 vaccine doses provided and resources secured to procure an additional 400,000 doses. About 200,000 sheep and goats have received a first dose.
  • In Gaza, Israeli airstrikes and other attacks continued to hit populated areas, causing casualties and property damage and driving further displacement.
  • Women now head nearly one in four households in Gaza, a new analysis by UN Women finds, and face greater hardship, including higher levels of inadequate shelter, housing damage, and displacement.
  • Overcrowding, inadequate shelter and limited access to safe water and sanitation are increasing the risk of communicable disease transmission in Gaza, particularly respiratory infections, acute watery diarrhoea and acute jaundice syndrome.
  • Winter preparedness efforts at overcrowded displacement sites remain severely constrained by funding shortages and restrictions on the entry of essential materials, leaving families exposed to flooding, strong winds and deteriorating site conditions.
  • Denials and delays of approvals for engine oil and spare parts threaten generator-dependent water, sanitation, health and waste management services; since 1 March, 13,445 litres have been approved and 92,778 litres remain pending, data from UN 2720 Mechanism indicates.

Overview

As the new academic year begins across the Occupied Palestinian Territory, children continue to face barriers to safe learning due to displacement, insecurity caused by airstrikes and other attacks, damage to facilities and persistent access restrictions. Water access also remains precarious. In Gaza, 91 per cent of assessed households face moderate to high water insecurity, with many reliant on water trucking, while temporary disruptions to desalination facilities in Israel in early September also reduced water supply in both Gaza and parts of the West Bank. In Gaza, families are highly concerned about the upcoming rainy season amid funding shortfalls and restrictions on the entry of critical humanitarian supplies and equipment, limiting humanitarian partners’ ability to mitigate flooding and improve conditions at overcrowded displacement sites.

11 september 2026

Beweging in Nederland

Betrokkenheid reikt ver

Uitnodiging | Bearing Witness – getuigenissen over marteling in Israëlische gevangenissen

Tomorrow night, at sunset, we greet a new Jewish year.

The new year is a time and source of conviction and strengthening: to reckon with who we are, and to recommit ourselves to the struggle for Palestinian and collective liberation.

We meet this new year in grief and in rage. The Israeli state’s destruction of Palestinian life and land continues unabated, enabled and armed by the U.S. government.

We cannot and we will not turn away from the the ongoing genocide in Palestine, and we cannot and we will not bend the knee to the fascists in power.

Our movement is powerful and growing.

We see it in our conversations with neighbors for whom solidarity with Palestinians is now a given. We see it in the turning tide in the halls of power. We see it in the expanding number and strength of anti-Zionist Jewish communities across the globe. We see it in the millions of dollars divested from companies that profit from war and occupation and genocide. We see it in the growing understanding across our movements that we cannot fight fascism in the U.S. without ending our government’s support for fascist violence across Palestine.

May this Rosh Hashanah be a new year of turning towards one another, and strengthening ourselves and our movements for the ongoing fight in the year ahead.

Palestine will be free. The Jewish future is anti-Zionist. We will get there together.

NO WEAPONS ON UNITED

Did you know you could be flying above military equipment bound for Israel? Yes, you read that right.

On September 9, United Airlines reportedly transported five shipments of military cargo on a commercial passenger flight from New Jersey to Tel Aviv. The shipments were headed to facilities belonging to Elbit Systems, Israel’s largest weapons manufacturer. At least one was explicitly identified in shipping records as part of the U.S. government’s Foreign Military Sales program.

And this is not the first time.

United transported nearly 3,000 shipments of military materiel to Israel over roughly seven months in 2025 and early 2026. The cargo ranged from fighter-jet and tank components to helmet-mounted displays, electronics, nuts, bolts, and other military equipment. Newark was the primary hub for these shipments, with all but 45 of the documented shipments departing from there.

More than 2,000 of those shipments were destined for Elbit Systems. Another 78 went to Lockheed Martin’s Israeli headquarters, while hundreds of others were reportedly bound for Israel’s Ministry of Defense and Israeli military air bases, including a base used by Israel’s F-35I fighter fleet.

United suspended its Tel Aviv service after the U.S. and Israel launched its unprovoked war on Iran at the end of February and Israel’s airspace closed to most foreign commercial traffic.

Since then, the flights, and therefore these shipments, were halted until United resumed its Newark–Tel Aviv passenger service on September 8. The very next day, military cargo was scheduled to return with it.

United has already shown these shipments can stop; we're demanding they stop for good.

A commercial airline carrying millions of passengers should not be transporting military equipment to a government carrying out an illegal occupation and a genocide of three years in Gaza. Passengers do not want the aircraft they’re on to be used as part of a military supply chain.

What can you do?

  1. Tell United's CEO, Scott Kirby, President Brett J. Hart, and the rest of United’s leadership: Stop transporting weapons, military equipment, and other war materiel to Israel and adopt a public policy ensuring United passenger aircraft will not be used for these shipments again.
  2. Cancel United: Avoid booking any United flights until and unless the airline stops transporting weapons materials to Israel.
  3. Make it public. Post on social media and tell United why you're taking your business elsewhere:

I fly United to get from one place to another, not to help transport military equipment to Israel to commit war crimes and genocide. @United, stop carrying military materiel to Israel on passenger flights. Until you do, I’ll take my business elsewhere. #NoWeaponsOnUnitedIn solidarity,American Muslims for Palestine (AMP)

Last night, Providence, RI made history. There, Democrats elected David Morales as their nominee for mayor, making his candidacy the first ever to unseat a sitting mayor in the city. What’s more: Morales is unabashedly pro-Palestine.

Morales intertwined justice for Palestinians with a populist program of support for working class Providencians, saying: “The mayor should be more concerned with fighting the affordability crisis in Providence than defending a genocide.”

David is our 16th endorsed candidate to win the Democratic nomination this cycle. Our Palestine champions have been winning up and down the ballot – from city government, to state legislature, to the House of Representatives, to the Senate. And we’re just getting started.

David has been in the streets with the Palestinian rights movement for years.

Morales won because organizations mobilized grassroots people power to talk with voters across the city — and because his campaign gave people something to vote for.

He has consistently called for an end to U.S. support for apartheid and genocide.

During his campaign for mayor, David proudly endorsed an upcoming city ballot initiative to cut an estimated $2.5 million in investments in Israel and other countries committing genocide.

This will be the first legally-binding divestment vote in U.S. history. It’s the culmination of months of on-the-ground organizing by JVP-Rhode Island members and partners — and with David as the Democratic nominee for Mayor, we’re that much closer to victory.

Volunteers across Providence made this happen through a powerhouse grassroots field program where neighbors spoke to neighbors about making Providence a city where working people can thrive.

As David said in his victory speech, this win was about more than just one election. “Solidarity was on the ballot….And tonight, Providence, we delivered a mandate.”

“Together we ignored the cynicism. Together we refused to lower our expectations. Together we organized, day in and day out, sharing our vision on how we build a city all our neighbors can afford and feel safe calling home.”

In Providence — and in cities across the country — we are showing over and over that organized people can beat money.

We are proud to have endorsed David Morales, further solidifying solidarity with Palestine as a litmus test at every level of government. Will you give $5 today so we can do this again—and again and again?

Onwards,

USCPR’s Annual Palestine Local Campaigns Convening

USCPR’s 2025 Campaigns Camp in Texas

For 25 years, activists and supporters like you have empowered the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights to build toward our shared vision of justice and liberation for the Palestinian people. Thank you!

As we fight for that vision, one of our most important roles in the U.S.-based Palestine solidarity movement has been equipping and training local organizers to lead effective grassroots campaigns in their local communities.

Over the past four years, we’ve gathered hundreds of organizers from across the country for our annual Palestine Local Campaigns Convening to do just that.

Earlier this summer, hundreds of USCPR community members contributed nearly $70,000 in support of our fourth annual Campaigns Camp, where we’ll convene nearly 100 organizers from around the country for trainings and workshops that will get their local campaigns closer to the movement-building wins we all want to see.

We’re deeply grateful for the generosity of the USCPR community, and we look forward to sharing an update with you all in October! In the meantime, if you’d like to learn more about our Campaigns Camp and the impact of your generosity, read our interview with Leah and Celine from USCPR’s Organizing & Advocacy team.

Spotlight: Olive Branch Club

Why is monthly giving important to you?

We recently asked Rahim, a long-time Olive Branch Club member, why monthly giving is important to him. Read below to find out what inspired him to give monthly!

“Monthly giving is important to me because it gives me confidence that I, like so many others, are helping to set a predictable and sustainable baseline of support for USCPR. In the advocacy and organizing world, funding goes up and down quickly and unpredictably, and organizations must adapt by scaling back their ambition in order to maintain their financial flexibility for the long term. This movement can’t afford that—we need to provide organizations like USCPR with long term reliable funding that allows them to be as bold as possible in changing U.S. policy as fast as possible.”

Thank you to Rahim, and our 1,800+ Olive Branch Club members who have taken action through giving monthly. By making a monthly commitment, members are powering our mission at a time when our work for justice and Palestinian liberation is needed most.

9 september 2026

The upcoming weeks will be some of the most decisive in the fight to stop the Deadly Merger.

On Monday, the Senate returns to DC after a month in their districts. With recess over, a vote on the enormous Pentagon spending bill (the NDAA)—and the Deadly Merger provision (House Sec. 219/Senate Sec. 1217)—could happen as soon as next week.

New polling shows that 61% of voters oppose a version of the NDAA that would deepen the integration of Israeli weapons companies into the Pentagon at a level higher than any other country. Momentum is on our side, and we can’t back down now.

That’s why we’ve been holding weekly phonebanks with our partners at Democratic Socialists for America (DSA) and U.S. Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR) Action, and are keeping them up throughout the month of September.

Join us tonight at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT for our next phonebank as we prepare for the Senate's return to DC.

This evening, I’ll be joining the phonebank to discuss the importance of this ongoing push within the bigger fight to challenge the growing power of Big Tech and its toxic alliance with Israel.

Together, we’ll be contacting registered DSA members or pro-Palestine supporters who have already taken action with AJP or USCPR Action.

Then, next Monday, Sep. 14,  we'll be phonebanking all day from 9 am-5 pm ET to drive call key Senators on their first day back in office. This time, we will be asking people to make calls during business hours to make sure that their staffers hear directly from their constituents in real time—not on a voicemail. Even if you can only join us for 30 minutes, your support can make a big difference.

Take action with us this month by signing up for one of our weekly phonebanks or our special Day of Action phonebank on Monday 9/14.

As support for the traditional model of U.S. military funding to Israel plummets, Israel is now positioning itself as a global leader in AI and tech for war. It’s betting the future of its economy on AI and tech. But it can’t succeed without the U.S. and Big Tech backing.

Blocking the Deadly Merger provision in the NDAA is one of the most immediate and impactful actions we can take right now to challenge this larger plan.

That’s where phonebanking comes in. While making calls to our own Representatives and Senators is critical (and we need to keep doing it), through phonebanking we can apply strategic pressure on key lawmakers who have the most say in what is included in the final version of the NDAA.

Last week, we made almost 8,000 calls to supporters in key districts and asked them to contact their representatives and demand they reject the Deadly Merger. With each phonebank, we’re able to drive hundreds of calls to lawmakers.

Sign up for a phonebank in September

Although a version of the NDAA with the provision passed in the House in July, both the House and Senate must still pass a final, reconciled version of the bill before it becomes law. That process could start as soon as next week.

We can stop the Deadly Merger. But it’s only possible with the help of people like you.

I hope you’ll join me tonight at 7 pm ET, and again next Monday.

Our 79th Delegation to Palestine is Back!

The Chicago Youth to Palestine x Eyewitness Palestine delegation has just returned home safely, having spent ten days visiting with and learning from Palestinians across the West Bank and '48/Historic Palestine. Enjoy the gorgeous snapshots below, taken during the delegation!

Upcoming Eyewitness Palestine Delegations

This fall, we will be leading our second Olive Harvest Brigade to support Palestinian farmers and agricultural projects during the important olive harvest season. An important aspect of the brigade is finding meaningful ways to give back and support Palestinians on the ground over the long term.

We aim to provide 30 harvesting machines to farmers throughout the West Bank. You can learn more and contribute to this campaign through the link below.

Our Winter 2026 delegation applications are now open!

Each delegation is an immersive journey across the West Bank and historic Palestine where delegates meet Palestinian human rights defenders, organizers, civil servants, religious leaders, farmers, refugees, artists, and more.

It is an opportunity to learn directly from them about their lives, their histories and cultures, and about the everyday violences they are living through— beyond the news headlines— as well as to stand in solidarity with them and build relationships that last a lifetime.

Curious about our delegations? Join us for a Spanish language webinar in partnership with Festival Yallah in Mexico, tomorrow, September 10th at 6pm CT/ 7pm EDT.

This conversation will highlight the importance of Eyewitness Palestine's delegations to Palestine and bring together powerful voices and firsthand perspectives from the ground. We're honored to welcome back Fouad Muaddi, assistant to the Ecuadorian ambassador to Palestine. He'll be joining us virtually from Taybeh, the last remaining Christian town in the West Bank, where they are facing unprecedented violence amid the ongoing occupation.

We'll also hear from Tarin Gonzalez, a past delegate, who will share her personal journey to Palestine as well as her reflections on solidarity. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect directly with our partner in Palestine, and to learn how you can support by participating in Eyewitness Palestine's programs.

Humanitarian Situation Report

4 September 2026

Children walk past wastewater infrastructure under repair in Gaza, in an area destroyed by hostilities. Photo by UNICEF

Highlights

  • Children continue to be killed by airstrikes and other attacks affecting populated areas in the Gaza Strip.
  • Most of Gaza’s 2.1 million are approaching the rainy season in overcrowded displacement sites, at risk of flooding and disease, while efforts to help them prepare are constrained by funding shortfalls and access restrictions.
  • A water well and desalination plant in Deir al Balah was damaged by a nearby strike, while a temporary suspension of desalination in Israel reduced water provision to 1 million people across the Strip.
  • In the West Bank, settler violence continues at high levels, resulting in Palestinian casualties, damage to property and livelihood assets, and disruptions to access, including to water and other essential infrastructure.
  • More than 2,500 Palestinians have been displaced so far in 2026 due to settler attacks and related access restrictions.
  • Funding shortages continued to constrain humanitarian assistance amid worsening food insecurity, with WFP announcing a reduction in food assistance from 400,000 to 200,000 people in the West Bank.

Overview

Palestinians across the Occupied Palestinian Territory continue to face violence and restrictions with little to no protection. Displacement remains widespread and growing, with more families losing their properties and shelters each day, while humanitarian efforts continue to be constrained.

The new measures are long overdue, but do not go far enough. More must be done.

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) welcomes the sanctions and trade restrictions announced by the United Kingdom (UK), France, Canada, and eight other Western nations against Israeli imports produced in illegal Israeli settlements. AMP also supports the UK’s decision to deny license applications for arms that “materially contribute to the occupation of Palestinian territories.”

While these measures are long overdue, they do not go far enough. Acknowledging that Israel is carrying out ethnic cleansing in the occupied West Bank is good. But these latest measures still treat Israeli settlers, the settlement enterprise, and the Israeli government as separate entities. Israeli settlers do not act independently of the state but are a direct extension of it. Their attacks on Palestinian communities are enabled and protected by the Israeli government to enact the “Greater Israel Project.”

At the same time, Gaza has been left out of the equation. It is overdue that Western powers impose a complete arms embargo to end Israel’s genocidal onslaught on Gaza. The genocide in Gaza is a byproduct of the undeserved sense of exceptionalism and impunity afforded to Israel by the U.S. and the Western world – which have provided Apartheid Israel with continual unconditional military, diplomatic, and political support.

While other Western governments are finally beginning to impose consequences, the Trump administration continues to behave as Israel’s shield.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has made clear that the U.S. will not join these measures while claiming he does not want “anything destabilizing” occurring in the occupied West Bank or in the region. The irony, of course, is that U.S. support for Israel’s occupation is itself one of the primary drivers of instability in the region. U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee has gone even further, calling the British decision “irrational” and warning of economic consequences for Britain.

The Trump administration is threatening an American ally for attempting to hold Israel accountable while refusing to use its enormous leverage over Israel itself. The U.S. repeatedly warns Israel about settler violence, annexation, and regional instability, but refuses to impose the consequences necessary to change or correct the behavior.

Even Ambassador Huckabee’s recent visit to Turmus Ayya, a Palestinian village which contains a large Palestinian-American community in the occupied West Bank tormented by state-backed settler violence, is reduced to political theater. What is the purpose of condemning settler terrorism if the U.S. continues protecting the government that enables it? What is the value of an American ambassador visiting Palestinian Americans attacked by settlers if those attacks produce no consequences?

Israel depends on the United States, not the other way around. The United States must stop allowing the Israeli government to walk all over it while American taxpayers are forced to subsidize Israel’s occupation, apartheid, and genocide. Empty warnings have failed. Symbolic condemnations have failed. Decades of unconditional support have only cultivated Israeli impunity.

It is time for consequences.

Last month, the Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) opened new legal fronts in Vietnam, India, Canada, and the United States, pursuing Israeli soldiers and officials alleged to have participated in war crimes, genocide, incitement, and the unlawful transfer of Palestinians.

Each filing opens another jurisdiction, invokes another state’s legal obligations, and further narrows the geography of impunity.

Here is what we filed in August, and why each case matters.

Vietnam

HRF filed a criminal complaint with Vietnamese authorities against Matan Jerafi, an Israeli reservist on holiday in Vietnam, who serves in the 920th Infantry Battalion, 769th Brigade, and is CEO of the Israeli organization Im Tirtzu.

Jerafi documented his own deployments. The complaint concerns his role in the systematic destruction of civilian infrastructure in central Gaza and later in southern Lebanon. It also details a sustained public record of statements calling for the starvation, expulsion, and killing of Gaza's civilian population.

Vietnam is party to the Geneva Conventions and the Genocide Convention. Those obligations do not pause for a suspect's holiday.

India

HRF's second complaint in India this year concerns an Israeli soldier vacationing in the country, alleged to have taken part in the systematic destruction of civilian property in the Khan Younis Governorate, between March and April 2024.

Satellite imagery, verified footage and open-source analysis show the demolitions occurred after Israeli forces established operational control of the area—not during combat: destruction as policy, not as consequence. The pattern matches Amnesty International findings on Israeli "buffer zone" demolitions along Gaza's eastern perimeter.

India has legal obligations under the same conventions as Vietnam. HRF’s filings demand these obligations are fulfilled.

Canada & the United States

Legal action also produced concrete results in Canada, with a criminal complaint filed by HRF and its partners at the Legal Centre for Palestine leading to the revocation of the Electronic Travel Authorization of Arieh King, Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem and founder of the Israel Land Fund. King was subsequently forced to cancel an in-person speaking engagement in Toronto on 25 August.

Ahead of King’s arrival in the United States on 31 August, HRF filed a request for his prosecution with the U.S. Department of Justice for the war crime of unlawful transfer through the decades-long dispossession of Palestinians in Occupied East Jerusalem, particularly Silwan and Sheikh Jarrah, and incitement to genocide.

The complaint also documents King’s campaign against UNRWA, an organization whose destruction has been central to the starvation of Gaza, and his public calls for the expulsion of Gaza’s population and destruction of its cities.

King was not coming to Canada and the U.S. to hide. He was coming to raise funds for Israel's genocidal projects.

Accountability will not be left to the perpetrators

As HRF pursues criminal cases across jurisdictions, Israel has announced self-investigations into two of the more notorious crimes committed by its forces in Gaza:

  • The killing of six-year-old Hind Rajab, members of her family, and the two PRC paramedics sent to rescue her; and

  • The killing of 15 Palestinian paramedics and emergency workers in Rafah.

These investigations come after more than two and a half years of genocide, despite extensive independent documentation and evidence of the crimes committed. For 933 days, the Israeli military denied responsibility for Hind’s killing.

It has now opened a criminal investigation focused on failures in coordinating the ambulance sent to rescue her, rather than the central question: Who killed Hind Rajab?

We know the unit, the commanders, the soldiers present, and the tank that fired.

We know who killed Hind Rajab.

The problem isn’t a lack of evidence. It’s a system that consistently shields its own forces from accountability. Over 1,000 incidents related to Israel’s assault on Gaza have been referred to Israel’s Fact-Finding Assessment Mechanism. Only 74 investigations have been opened. Only one has resulted in a prison sentence.

These belated self-investigations create the appearance of accountability while deflecting international pressure. As importantly, they aim to undermine the substantial gains being made in these cases before foreign and international courts.

Our work is to ensure Israel cannot investigate itself out of accountability.

BREAKING THE SILENCE

7 september 2026

A year has passed since the IDF’s attack on Nasser Hospital, which killed 22 people, including five journalists. At the end of August, exactly one year after the attack, media outlets worldwide published new information about the incident, including testimony we collected from a soldier who described the IDF’s damage-control tactics in the aftermath of the attack. Rather than revising the deadly policies that led to the attack, the IDF sought to construct a justification for it through “retroactive incrimination.”

“When [the IDF] understands there is a crisis, they try to connect the people that were killed or harmed to Hamas, because if they can say the people who killed them were a Hamas terrorist, that would look better in the eyes of the world [...] It's a tool to handle the narrative and twist it like they are the good guys”

Photo: Gaza, Doaa Albaz, Activestills

According to the IDF’s account, the attack on Nasser Hospital targeted a camera it claimed belonged to Hamas. In reality, the camera belonged to Reuters cameraman Hussam al-Masri. Facing international uproar, the IDF opened an investigation into the attack, which remains open to this day. While the IDF claims these instances are fringe events that violate regulations, soldiers’ testimonies we’ve collected show this is, in fact, IDF policy implemented through permissive rules of engagement.

Since October 7th 2023, cameras in the Gaza Strip have been considered by the IDF to be a threat to forces operating on the ground and have therefore been treated as legitimate military targets.

The astronomical number of journalists killed by the IDF is also a direct outcome of these orders and lax regulations given to the soldiers on the ground. The IDF’s retroactive incrimination process is a cynical tool used to complement these policies by attempting to claim just use of lethal actions and avoid criticism. It too has been used constantly throughout the fighting in different variations, with countless soldiers testifying to their units automatically and retroactively counting killed Palestinians as terrorists, even when they were unarmed or under the age of 18.

Israeli strikes in Gaza continue to this day, with more than 1,300 people, including 300 children, killed since the “ceasefire” began. Just yesterday, the IDF killed a three-year-old boy and his father in an airstrike in Khan Yunis. Don’t be silent about Gaza.

HOW WE FIGHT IN GAZA

“The Perimeter:” a collection of soldiers’ testimonies chronicles the systematic annihilation and expropriation of entire villages and agricultural zones - anything that lay in the newly created Gaza buffer zone, which the IDF “completed” last December.

Since Oct 2023, Israeli officials have been consistently saying that the 238,000 Palestinians who once lived in this zone will not be allowed to return. This collection details the ethnic cleansing of around 16% of the Gaza Strip.

At the time of writing, it seems the perimeter is being expanded further.

Mattan here. In 2017, I was imprisoned for 110 days because I refused to join the Israeli occupation army. Today, I am the team coordinator of RSN. I would like to share with you today my experience in prison and how grateful I am for the support I got from people just like you, support that helped me during these dark days to continue to fight against the occupation.

Support War ResistersBeing in prison was one of the hardest times of my life. I remember the first day there. They put me in a small cell, around 12 square meters, with three more people. Then, reality hit me. The noise and chaos that surrounded my refusal were suddenly replaced by the day-to-day consequences of it. Having my freedom taken away from me, being shouted at by guards every day, not seeing loved ones and not knowing when I will be released. I remember being forced to stand for a long time just because the guard was counting the prisoners and one prisoner didn't shout his name loudly enough for them to hear.

The worst part is not knowing if my actions are making any difference. Did I bring the occupation one step closer to its end? Am I able to influence others to act? Does anyone even know that I am here?

It may not look like it, but being an anti-occupation activist in Israel-Palestine is hard. We are subjected to police brutality, imprisonment, and isolation from society. Many do not talk about it; we do not want to be perceived as weak or admit to ourselves that it is hard because we are afraid we might crack. But mainly, we do not talk about it because we feel like we cannot complain. At the end of the day, the Palestinians are the ones who are truly suffering, and our actions are about them, not us. What is my suffering compared to the Palestinians' suffering?

Support War ResistersFor a long time after prison, I did not talk about my struggles there. I mostly talked about the funny moments in prison and how boring it was. In the last few years, I have come to realize how important it is to talk about the harsh parts of the experience and process it. I realized that this is important for me personally, but also for ending the Israeli occupation. We cannot end the occupation if we do not take care of ourselves; we cannot end the occupation if all of us are burned out. This is why we at Resistance Solidarity Network place such importance on burnout prevention in our work and in our support for activists.

This is something that you could help us with, too! What helps me the most is knowing that I have a community behind me that supports me. I know that I have a community that amplifies my voice so my actions will impact more people. I received hundreds of support letters in prison that gave me strength during my darkest time and helped me continue fighting. The more people we are, the more support the resisters receive. You can help the resisters by growing our community. Share this link with 3 of your friends and family members and invite them to join us in supporting the resistance from within.

This November, Providence voters will decide whether to cut an estimated $2.5 million in investments in Israel and other countries committing genocide. Not the Mayor, and not City Council. It will be the first legally binding divestment vote in U.S. history.

JVP-Rhode Island members and the rest of the Providence for Palestine Coalition spent months collecting 10,000 signatures to make this happen. And if this historic ballot measure passes, the Rhode Island campaign will offer a viable model for countless other organizers fighting for divestment in their own cities and states. One in which the people get a direct say in where their tax dollars are spent.

In the coming weeks, JVP-Rhode Island will print and send professional mailers to voters in Providence, to urge them to vote YES on this historic ballot measure. Mailers are effective — but pricey.

We have until Wednesday to raise $7,000 — that's the printer deadline. If we hit it, that's mailers in 10,000 mailboxes across Providence.

That's just 150 people chipping in $50 each. Can you donate what you're able?

From the smallest state, a huge impact.

JVP-Rhode Island members and the rest of the Providence for Palestine Coalition spent months collecting over 10,000 signatures demanding a vote on divestment — enough to bypass the City Council and the Mayor and get divestment directly on the ballot this November.

This multiracial, intergenerational, multifaith group of organizers is pushing Providence to divest city funds away from countries committing genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid — and reinvest those funds in education, healthcare, and housing here at home.

If this historic ballot initiative passes in Rhode Island, it won’t just end an estimated $2.5 million worth of investments in Israel and other countries committing genocide; it will set JVP organizers and partner groups up to do the same in cities and towns across the country.

Poll after poll makes it clear that Americans don’t want their tax dollars going toward Israel’s genocide. The vote in Providence can prove that when people have the power to decide where their tax dollars are invested, they will vote to divest from Israel.

Let’s let U.S. investments in Israel finally be subject to the democratic control of ordinary, working-class taxpayers.

The world has again seen what Palestinians in the West Bank face every day from settler colonial violence—and this time, an NBC foreign correspondent and crew were targeted, too. A group of masked and armed Israeli settlers attacked while NBC was interviewing a 51-year-old Palestinian woman, Aida Ahmed Abdullah, near Nablus. The settlers beat them with sticks and pummelled Aida until they knocked her unconscious.1

The genocide against the Palestinian people, the United States’ dangerous war on Iran, and Israel’s apartheid regime—our movement is fighting to end all of these atrocities, and we’ve never been closer. It’s going to take all of us, pushing together over the long haul.

Keep up the fight with us. Read the latest below.

OUR GOVERNMENT'S GUILT

  • The U.S. and Israel want to integrate their military systems to produce deadly weapons and technology together. This Deadly Merger is buried inside the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which Congress will vote on again soon.2 Watch this explainer video from Palestinian content creator Salma Shawa.

  • The U.S. bombed a wedding among multiple attacks on Kuhestak, Iran, near the Strait of Hormuz, as captured in video footage and eyewitness accounts.3

  • The U.S. House of Representatives passed a dangerous anti-BDS bill that would penalize universities that engage in boycotts of Israel, with 33 Democrats shamefully voting alongside Republicans.4 This bill is not yet law as it heads to the Senate next.

  • A federal judge ruled that the Trump administration violated international students’ constitutional rights by trying to deport them for their free speech on Palestine.5

  • The Trump administration tried to block the release of Palestine activist and photojournalist Ya’akub Vijandre, who’s been locked up by ICE for nearly a year, but a federal judge granted his right to challenge his detention.6

YOUR IMPACT

  • The Block the Bombs Act, a critical piece of legislation that would block major weapons to Israel, has 81 cosponsors and counting in the House of Representatives.7

  • For last week’s Stop the Deadly Merger Week of Action, 78 volunteers for USCPR Action, Adalah Justice Project, DSA, and more partners made over 10,000 calls to supporters, patched through 318 constituents to strategically targeted members of Congress who could move the needle in this fight, and recruited 161 additional volunteers. Join the next phonebank to keep building this momentum.

  • Our sibling organization USCPR joined National Nurses United to say Palantir OUT of our community, with hundreds of nurses who protested and halted traffic in eight cities. 25 Years of Fighting For Palestinian Rights in the U.S., What’s Changed?

I’ve worked for Palestinian rights in the U.S. for nearly a quarter of a century, and what we are witnessing today is truly unprecedented. Let me tell you about it.

Yesterday, we were angry about the 33 Democrats who voted in favor of H.R. 4795, the Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act - a horrible anti-BDS bill.

And while that anger is warranted, I also want to embrace the other side of the coin. Perspective is everything. Yes, it’s horrible that in 2026, 33 Democrats voted for a bill that would essentially pressure universities to maintain financial ties with Israel or risk having their investment decisions treated as an unlawful boycott.

But there is another, more hopeful way to look at this: only 33 Democrats voted for it.

That means an overwhelming majority of elected Democrats rejected this bill. It reflects just how dramatically the political landscape has shifted and a growing recognition that their constituents value our First Amendment rights and want them protected. It also reflects that the majority of Americans no longer buy Israel’s propaganda and do not want their tax dollars funding its atrocities, let alone our academic institutions being pressured to invest in its settler-colonial agenda.

This is the product of decades of dedicated advocacy for Palestine. These are the fruits of our labor - the work of those who came before us, those who have persisted alongside me over the last few decades, and a new generation of advocates who are unyielding in their efforts to center Palestinian rights.

Hear more about this shift in my latest video (Instagram or YouTube), and register for Palestinian Advocacy Days today. We’re less than 20 days away, and I hope to see you there as we continue this fight.

Palestine: From Bearing Witness to Building Power

It is high time that perpetrators of War Crimes, Crimes Against Humanity, and the Crime of Genocide are held accountable. Over the last 3+ years, the American people have witnessed the first live-streamed genocide in history. No amount of Zionist hasbara and US mainstream media propaganda can offset what Americans have been observing on social media.

At this moment, we’re at a critical crossroads: one path is to remain silent in the face of Israeli brutality and US complicity; the other path is to do something about it. The American people have already decided on the latter. We are on that path to action, and AMP’s annual convention is a tool to expedite our efforts to realize ultimate victory for Palestine.

American Muslims for Palestine (AMP) invites you to our 19th Annual Palestine Convention titled “Palestine: From Bearing Witness to Building Power,” from November 26th to 28th, 2026, at the Tinley Park Convention Center near Chicago, IL. Spend your upcoming Thanksgiving weekend learning about Palestine and advocating, mobilizing, and utilizing our collective action to free the Palestinian people from Israeli oppression and US complicity in that oppression.

Our theme this year reflects the reality on the ground in the United States. Longstanding bipartisan support for Israel is fractured and on the verge of collapse. Even support within the Republican Party has begun to fracture. On the grassroots level, public opinion has shifted dramatically, where the majority of young adults in America now hold an unfavorable view of Israel. This is our moment to take what we know and what we see, and pool our resources toward political and collective action.

AMP’s Palestine Convention is designed to cater to all audiences. Collective action requires all of our dedication, so bring the whole household, from babies to grandparents, and everyone in between. Join us in this noble effort and stay tuned for more news and updates soon! Use Promo Code "FDAY30" for a 30% Discount [OFFER ENDS SEPT 30, 2026].

Protest in Rotterdam

Kantoorloos gaan we nu verder.

Rijnstraat 8 in Den Haag.

We gaan erop toezien.

Uitnodiging | Bearing Witness – getuigenissen over marteling in Israëlische gevangenissen

33 Dems voted in favor of defunding universities that boycott Israeli companies and institutions

Today, the House passed H.R. 4795, the so-called Protect Economic and Academic Freedom Act, by a vote of 237–169.

Despite its name, this bill does nothing to protect economic or academic freedom. It does the opposite. H.R. 4795 conditions access to federal education funding on universities’ treatment of boycotts targeting Israel and Israeli entities. In doing so, Congress is once again using federal power to discourage constitutionally protected political expression and pressure universities over decisions that should be theirs to make.

Shamefully, 33 Democrats joined Republicans in voting for this bill, while two Republicans voted against it.

Take action:

Whether you’re thanking your member of Congress for opposing the bill or letting them know you’re upset they voted for it, call and email them here.

Boycotts have a long history as a form of political protest in this country. Americans have used them to challenge segregation, apartheid, exploitation, and injustice. Whether or not a member of Congress agrees with a particular boycott is beside the point. The First Amendment does not exist only for political expression Congress finds agreeable.

Yet this legislation singles out Israel for protections afforded to no other foreign country. It requires colleges and universities participating in federal student aid programs to refrain from certain boycotts of Israel and requires institutions receiving federal support for international studies and foreign-language programs to make annual certifications regarding access to programs in Israel and participation by Israeli students. Essentially, this bill pressures universities to maintain financial ties with Israel or risk having their investment decisions treated as an unlawful boycott, potentially jeopardizing their access to federal funding.

Once again, insulating Israel from political pressure is more important to our electeds than protecting the rights and independence of Americans and American institutions.

Now we need to make sure members hear from us. Call and email your members now.

“I am effectively a prisoner in my own home:” a Palestinian-American experience under siege

For three weeks, violent Israeli settlers have laid siege to the Palestinian village of Qusra in the occupied West Bank. Families have been cut off from electricity and water, blocked from reaching their homes, and prevented from bringing in food, medicine, and other basic supplies. Israeli forces have compounded the siege, restricting access to the area and forcing residents from their homes under the pretext of military operations. Residents have also reported Israeli soldiers ransacking homes and stealing money.

Among those trapped in this nightmare is the family of Palestinian American Loui Ridi.

Loui traveled from Ohio to Qusra in a desperate attempt to protect his home and land from settlers trying to seize it. He raised an American flag over his property, hoping that, if nothing else, his U.S. citizenship might offer some measure of protection.

Think about what that means: an American citizen, under siege in his own home, left hoping a flag will protect him because his government has not.

READ LOUI’S STORY and then take action and join the fight to secure accountability.

His experience raises a question our government should be forced to answer: Who does it represent?

Loui is not the first Palestinian American to discover the limits of U.S. protection when the perpetrator is Israel. Americans have been killed, attacked, detained, and threatened by Israeli forces and settlers, while their own government has repeatedly failed to demand meaningful accountability.

Loui’s citizenship should compel the U.S. government to act. But an American passport should never be the measure of whose life, home, or safety is worth defending. What is happening to Loui is what Palestinians across the occupied West Bank have endured for decades: violence, displacement, land theft, and impunity.

The United States has enormous leverage to stop these abuses. Instead, it continues to arm and shield the government enabling them.

JVP WIRE

2 september 2026

Welcome Back Students! You're suspended.

As students head back to campus, JVP chapters at more than 30 universities are springing back into action. The repression machine is waiting for them.

In this Wire, you’ll learn about universities going the extra mile to carry out the Trump regime’s war on higher education — from censoring the word “genocide” to attempting to designate “Zionism” as a protected class.

We also have 5 ways campus organizers have been fighting back — and winning.

Our right to speak out for Palestine is under threat like never before. But when we organize together, we can resist — and win. You don’t have to be a student to take action today.

Here are 3 things you can do right now to defend students and protect free speech on campus:

1. Tell CMU to drop the charges against the only pro-Palestine fence painter still banned from campus.

2. Tell Stockton University to stop censoring the word “genocide."

3. Tell Congress to protect students.

High Holidays 5787

In less than two weeks, we will mark Rosh Hashanah 5787, the beginning of a new Jewish year.

In the words of JVP Lab’s Associate Director of Religious and Cultural Organizing, Rabbi Jessica Rosenberg, this is a time to refill our cups: to be intentional about what we must cast off, and what we must recommit to and bring with us into the new year.

Watch this video of Rabbi Linda Holtzman speaking to the power of the shofar during JVP’s Power Half-Hour for Gaza — and make sure to check out JVP Lab’s other High Holidays resources.

What we’re reading: Will Palestinian children have schools left to go to?

As children in Palestine get ready for the new school year, Ola Mohammad writes for Al Jazeera about the school Israeli officials are threatening to demolish in Masafer Yatta — and the fear and uncertainty plaguing its students.

“The occupation authorities do not usually tell the residents or the school administration in advance when the bulldozers will arrive.”

What we’re watching: Israeli settlers are out of control

NBC Correspondent Matt Bradley recounts a violent attack by Israeli settlers that left him and his crew injured in the Occupied West Bank.

What we’re listening to: The last episode of JVP radio

In the final episode of JVP Radio,Washington for Peace and Justice organizer Layla and JVP-Seattle member Eliana discuss their ongoing “Cut Ties With Genocide” campaign.

The Wire is one of the largest American publications dedicated to justice. Every week, we cover important news from Palestine, the United States, and the Palestine solidarity movement — and provide ways to take action.

The impact of Palestine Advocacy Days from the perspective of a regular attendee

Are you tired of reaching out to your representatives about genocide only to receive automated email replies? Are you tired of calling, emailing, and screaming out to your electeds only for your demands to be ignored or archived away?

As a Palestine advocate, I get it. Like you, I’ve felt that crushing demoralization–the feeling you get when those who claim to represent us dodge our every attempt to speak out. The feeling of discouragement when suited politicians so shamelessly walk away from constituents, drive by demonstrations, and act as if they’re covering their ears when we scream for children’s lives.

Every time I attend AJP Action’s Palestine Advocacy Days on Capitol Hill, that demoralization quickly turns into empowerment. No longer can our elected officials treat Palestine advocates like a voicemail to be archived; we have made our presence and our diligent fight for Palestinian rights unignorable.

I recently urged my peers in Minnesota to join the largest Palestine Advocacy event on Capitol Hill, and now I’m inviting you, no matter where you are in the country, to join as well. From September 20-22, join me and hundreds of constituents from across the US for an in-depth advocacy training and a chance to meet with your representatives and senators in Washington, DC.

For years, many elected officials counted on an assumption that Palestine advocates were a silent, poorly organized minority that paled in comparison to Zionist lobby groups. Our elected officials felt no obligation to answer to us.

Because of our consistent presence on the Hill, for the first time in US history, elected officials with an unwavering track record of voting in support of Israel are calling for blocking weapons sales to the Zionist state. Our elected officials are recognizing that Palestinian rights are a dealbreaker for voters, and that is because of our diligence in showing up on the Hill every single year. We can no longer be infantilized and treated as a fringe movement with no civic leverage.

We are claiming our place in American politics as a critical voter mass because of our DC presence. Join me, and never give our officials the opportunity to sideline us again. Palestine is claiming its place in American politics, and that place is unerasable.
